Fishing in Central Texas can be an amazing experience, from the different variety of fish to catch and beautiful scenery, there’s much to enjoy. Here are a few things to note when fishing in Texas:

  • Alligator Gar

    The alligator gar (Atractosteus spatula) is a large freshwater fish native to North America, particularly found in slow-moving rivers, lakes, and bayous in the southern United States. Known for its distinctive appearance, it has a long, torpedo-shaped body covered in thick, ganoid scales resembling armor.

  • Catfish

    Here in Texas, we have multiple types of catfish starting with your smaller BullHead Catfish. Channel catfish are another species that we have down here as well, these are usually your (eaters). Blue Catfish and Flathead Catfish are your trophy fish.

  • Bass

    "Bass" is a collective term that typically refers to several species of freshwater fish belonging to the family Centrarchidae. The most well-known bass species include the largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides) and the smallmouth bass (Micropterus dolomieu). Bass are popular gamefish pursued by anglers for their sporting qualities.

  • Crappie

    Crappie are a popular freshwater fish species in North America, belonging to the sunfish family (Centrarchidae). There are two main species: the black crappie (Pomoxis nigromaculatus) and the white crappie (Pomoxis annularis). They are known for their delicious taste and are sought after by anglers.
